SCREAMS IN THE NIGHT

(New Renaissance/MFN)

SCREAMS IN THE NIGHT was the first album featuring the Hellion line-up which emerged after the split-up of Ann Boleyn and the former band members. The new group included: ANN BOLEYN (vocals), CHET THOMPSON (guitar), GREG PECKA (drums-formerly of Dokken), and ALEX (PUDGE) CAMPBELL (bass-formerly of Lyon). Screams In The Night featured several interesting tracks. On UPSIDE-DOWN GUITAR SOLO, Chet Thompson captures an unusual and exotic sound with his unique method of guitar. On this same track, Chet also played te sitar. The lyrics on Screams In The Night vary from anthems such as the MTV and radio hit, BAD ATTITUDE, to the mystical and fantasy oriented TOWER OF AIR. It is interesting to note that, for the recording of the vocals of the mystical-themed songs, singer Ann Boleyn demanded that that everyone (except the enigneer) leave the studio. She also demanded that all lights be turned off in both the control room and studio and then brought in candles and incense to get the mood right. This has since become the standard way for Ann to record her vocals. It is a practice, however, that has angered her band members, whom she seldom allows present while recording her parts. This practice evolved out of the sessions which produced the first recorded version of RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. For more information, please see that page.

Screams In The Night was released in Europe on MUSIC FOR NATIONS and in America on NEW RENAISSANCE RECORDS.
